Epson Computer-to-Film (CTF) Solutions

High-Density Film Positives for Professional Screen Printing

Our Epson Screen Print Edition systems provide an all-in-one solution for creating high-quality film positives. By combining Epson’s industry-leading PrecisionCore® printhead technology with specialized RIP software, these systems deliver incredible black ink density and sharp halftone dots, essential for high-end screen printing.

In Bangladesh’s textile and screen-printing industry, Epson Computer-to-Film (CTF) Output System has become a practical alternative to traditional imagesetters. Many factories, print houses, and garment accessories businesses prefer Epson-based film output because it offers lower running cost, easier maintenance, and strong local support availability. Epson large-format models and related supplies are actively sold in Bangladesh through local channels.

Instead of using traditional imagesetters, Epson-based CTF systems use selected Epson inkjet printers with RIP software and special dark-film ink settings to produce sharp, dense black films at a lower running cost.

How It Works

  1. Design is prepared on computer (CorelDRAW, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
  2. File is sent to RIP software
  3. Epson printer outputs the design onto transparent film
  4. Film is used for screen/plate exposure

The Science of Perfect Screens: Epson Digital Solutions

Achieving a high-quality print starts with a high-quality screen. Our Epson Computer-to-Film (CTF) systems are engineered to master the four critical components of professional prepress:

1. Extreme D-Max Ink Density

The “D-Max” (Maximum Density) refers to the opacity of the black ink on your film. For screen printing, your film must be 100% UV-opaque to ensure the emulsion hardens only where intended.

  • The Epson Edge: Using UltraChrome® XD2/Pro10 pigment inks, our systems achieve a D-Max of 4.0 or higher.

  • Result: This “light-block” technology prevents light “wrap-around” during exposure, resulting in easy-to-wash-out screens and incredibly sharp edges.

2. Professional Film Positives

Traditional vellum or laser transparencies often shrink or lack the necessary detail.

  • The Epson Edge: By printing on specialized Epson Screen Positive Film, you get a dimensionally stable, clear base that resists humidity and heat.

  • Result: Perfect registration for multi-color jobs, ensuring that every color lines up exactly as designed on the press.

3. Precision Halftone Printing

Halftones allow you to print gradients, shadows, and photorealistic images using only one color of ink by varying dot sizes.

  • The Epson Edge: Our systems utilize advanced RIP (Raster Image Processor) software to convert your artwork into crisp halftone patterns.

  • Specifications: Support for high-frequency screens (up to 65 LPI and beyond) with customizable dot shapes (Round, Elliptical, or Square) and precise screen angles to prevent moiré patterns.

4. Advanced Screen Printing Workflow

Moving from a darkroom-based “analog” process to an Epson digital workflow eliminates the need for expensive cameras and toxic chemicals.

  • Efficiency: Print your film directly from programs like Adobe Creative Cloud.

  • Versatility: The same system used for your film positives can also print high-quality posters, indoor signage, and technical drawings, maximizing your ROI.
